Britelite Windows

About

Britelite was formed in the year 1970 by John Baxter and his business partner Arthur Clacy. This is today one of the most established home improvement companies outside of the big nationals. Their site (www.britelitewindows.co.uk) was 5th best ranked in our comparison that highlights their prominence in the modern day. There may well be greater potential here, but they have limited themselves over the years in serving customers of the South East only. The main areas that they focus on are Kent (Crayford & Maidstone) and Surrey (Camberley & Chessington). It is in these noted locations where they have built showrooms. Across their home region they install more than 18,000 windows and 300 conservatories each year.

SafeGlaze Windows

About

When researching the leading Double Glazing Companies it was SafeGlaze UK that took the 4th highest ranked web traffic position behind the 3 majors. Achieving this rank has been remarkable when you consider that Niamac Developments Ltd was only put together in August 2017. In hardly any time they have jumped ahead of such established brands as Britelite and Zenith. There was some initial confusion surrounding their link with Safestyle. Both are Bradford-based and the infamous BOGOF offer was promoted on this new site that has a similar design. We later tied in that this is a new project from Safestyle’s founder (Mitu Misra) after a family member and past employee were listed on the Companies House search.

Safestyle Windows

About

HPAS Ltd was originally setup in 1992 whilst Safestyle UK Plc was composed in 2013 to represent all of the group subsidiaries. The founder (Mitu Misra) was up and running on just £2000 capital. As they became popular, many will recall those irksome Jeff Brown ads “You Buy One, You Get One Free!”. Today, this firm has successfully played catch-up to the original home improvement giants Anglian and Everest who each date back to the 1960s. A recent presentation highlighted market share at 11.2%. This is quite a feat with the 3 majors historically sharing between 25% and 30%, with the bulk running across 12,500+ firms. Safestyle’s customer base has now surpassed 800,000 with their millionth order taken in November 2014.

Everest Windows

About

Everest Home Improvements (branded as Everest) was the first of the big nationals established in the year 1965. David Kingsley, Josh Manches, Lewis Golden and Sidney Manches started the original firm as Home Insulation Ltd, but within a few years they took on their now famous name in preparation for the heightened consumer demand for secondary glazing. Back then, homeowners were looking to modernise and protect as best they could from the draughts seeping through their casement and sash windows. Everest’s rise to mainstream success was spearheaded throughout the 1980s through their memorable advertising campaigns featuring Ted Moult. This torch has been passed on in the modern day to Craig Doyle.

Anglian Windows

About

Anglian Home Improvements is the full trading name of Anglian Windows Ltd although they do identify themselves as just Anglian. This company was established by George Williams in 1966, with their first showroom opening in Ipswich later in 1969. Over much of their history they have been engaged in a fierce rivalry with Everest who had popped up shortly before them in 1965.
